We all know that Money makes people uncomfortable. This is especially true when the average community member is approached several times a day on behalf of multiple organizations. Granted that all these organizations are doing great work, it is still undeniably true that approaching and being approached for donations makes people uncomfortable.

Our campaign of distributing thousands of Pushka’s ( Tzedakah Boxes) , is by no means revolutionary, but it does eliminate a large part of the uncomfortable solicitation. What we projected to do with these boxes was give them out to everyone who is willing to take one. Today, we have roughly 1800 boxes distributed across homes, offices, stores, restaurants, and all sorts of retail establishments.

The simple instructions labeled on the side of each box is to call Ruth at 240-476-2165 once they are full and we will arrange to pick it up immediately. These boxes create a very substantial revenue stream that helps our organization impact many of our immediate requests. It is a cash flow that helps the people who need help Right Here Right Now.

If you would like to sponsor a box, either, in Memory of in Honor of a loved one, we can insert a name on the box and distribute as many as you like to as many people as needed. It costs 30$ per box to sponsor and there is a minimum of 10 boxes.

Finally, when we collect the money from these boxes, we see each penny as a Mitzvah, and collective unification of money and Mitzvoth that impact on our community in both a practical and spiritual contribution.
